EXHIBITION REVIEW

At first sight I didn't thought that I would like the exhibition, because I haven't visited too many museums of modern art and the building didn't seem an appealing one. The first room I visited seemed a little weird because I'm used too see paintings hunging on the walls. My attention was drawn by this two birds feast on the wall and there was outlined some factories in smoke, which made me think about pollution and how it destroys the nature very quickly just like an arrow. Another interesting room was the second chamber where there were exposed some famous paintings, but unfortunately the way the paintings were arranged was very bad, because there were too many on one wall and crowded and that made viewers to gather in one place. And after watching 10 paintings I got tired and wanted to leave the room because of getting too much information in such short time. After I went into another room, where the paintings were less which gave me the impression of freedom, but the light from the windows was reflecting in the paintings and I couldn't see and understand clearly. Another room was with black and white photos, the photos were simple, capturing the everyday life, I liked the way they were arranged one line harmoniously. Also there was another room with photos, but I liked this room more because the photos were larger and were placed symmetrically and the combination of white walls with the black frame of the photos seemed very elegant. I liked this wall because of how the text was harmoniously combined with drawings and they were arranged in an interesting way, because it seemed like the last drawing was missing, leaving me the feeling it will be continued... Most of the sculptures made no sense to me, I did not understood what the artist wanted to express, it seemed like the work was at the beginning stage. My favorite room was the one in which was exposed the works of Alexander Brodsky and Ilya Utkin, I haven't heard of then until that day, but I really liked their work. I don't really know what I liked about their work, maybe because everything was black and white, and each work seemed to express the way our brain works and how it looks like from the inside, like chaos, paradox, crowded, on the edge, these are the words that I would use to describe what their work made me feel. Also I liked the room where his work was exposed, it was like a small tunnel and than this small room where his work was exposed, I think I liked it because it kinda made me feel like I was inside his brain. I wasn't expecting to like this exhibition so much, but I did, mainly because it was something new for me, and because I didn't really understand the artists work, and I developed my own ideea what the work could be.
